Playrooms Sparrow Locations (2026): Find All 20 Birds
How to find all 20 sparrows in Playrooms (2026). The best search order by room, the hiding spots that matter and why there is no fixed location list.
Quick answer: Playrooms has 20 sparrows for the "All the chirps" achievement. There is no official location list and no fixed coordinates: the birds spawn in per-room hiding spots, chirp when you are close and stay off the HUD. Search high ledges, furniture tops, dark corners and side rooms.

Why there is no simple location map
Most collectible guides give you coordinates. That does not work here. The sparrows are placed in per-room hiding spots rather than at fixed world positions, and the game does not expose a collectible map. What is stable is the type of spot: above eye level, behind furniture, in side rooms and in the dark corners the room lighting does not reach.
That is why this page is a search method rather than a list of 20 dots. A method that covers every room is more useful than a list that sends you to a spot where the bird is not spawning on your run.
How the sparrow count works
"All the chirps" tracks 20 birds. "First sparrow" unlocks on the first one. The count is global across saves, so you can finish the set over multiple runs.
The birds do not appear in the HUD, do not glow and do not show up through walls. The only reliable signal is the chirp. When you hear it, stop, turn slowly and look up. The sound is directional enough to tell you which side of the room the bird is on.
Walking through a room with the flashlight pointed forward is the slowest way to find sparrows. Stand still in the middle of the room and rotate. The chirp repeats, and the direction is easier to judge when you are not moving.
Search order by room
Playroom
The tutorial room is the easiest place to learn the pattern. Check the top of the pit wall, the shelf beside the entrance and the corner behind the pit. The Playroom has the fewest hiding spots, which makes it a good calibration room.
Poolroom
Check the pool deck ledges, the top of the tiled columns and the corners behind the pool. The waterline is a distraction; the birds are usually above it rather than in it.
Backrooms
The side offices and the door frames are the main spots. The Backrooms is dense with small rooms, so clear the pit first and then do a dedicated sparrow pass. Do not combine the two; the maze makes you rush.
Waiting Room
This is one of the best sparrow rooms. Check the top of the reception panel, the ceiling trim, the space behind the chairs and the dark corner beside the vending area. The vertical hiding spots here are the ones players miss.
Office
Check the cubicle partition tops, the top of the filing cabinets and the stairwell landings. The Office has a lot of furniture and a lot of small ledges, so a slow pass is worth it.
Hotel
Check the top of the wardrobes, the corridor picture frames and the room corners. The shifting layout means the bird can be in a room you cleared earlier, so do the sparrow pass in one continuous loop rather than across multiple visits.
School
Check the top of the lockers, the classroom cabinets, the teacher's desk and the gym storage. The School has the most hiding spots and the largest floor, so it is the room where the chirp matters most.
Final pit
The final area is small. Check the walls and the exit frame before you leave; once the run ends, you cannot come back in the same save.
The hiding spots that matter
Across all rooms, the same four categories produce most of the birds:
- Above eye level. Tops of lockers, cabinets, door frames, picture frames, partition walls.
- Behind furniture. Behind desks, headboards, reception panels and gym equipment.
- Side rooms. The small offices and storage rooms that have no pit and no obvious purpose.
- Dark corners. The places the room lighting does not reach, which is also where the ceiling balls hide.
If you have searched all four categories in a room and heard no chirp, the bird is probably not in that room on this run. Move on and come back later; the count is global.
Sparrows and the lights
The chirp is easier to hear when the room is quiet. The game's ambient soundtrack and the ball sounds can mask it, especially in the School and the Hotel. Two practical tricks:
- Stop moving. Footsteps and ball pickups mask the chirp.
- Turn the music down in the settings if you are hunting seriously. The sound effects stay audible.
The dark sections are actually good for sparrow hunting because the room noise drops and the chirp carries. Keep the flashlight off for a moment and listen.
Do sparrows affect the ending?
No. The sparrows are a collectible achievement, not a story requirement. You can finish the game without finding a single one. The ending explained→ page confirms what the final room requires.
If you are going for 100%, the sparrows are one of the two long collectible sets, alongside the 14 office items. The 100% checklist→ puts them in order.
Common sparrow mistakes
Sweeping with the flashlight. You walk past the bird while looking at the floor.
Hunting during a pit clear. The room noise and the route pressure make you miss the chirp.
Searching only at eye level. Most birds are above or behind something.
Giving up on a room after one pass. The count is global; a bird can spawn later.

FAQ
Where are the sparrows in Playrooms? There is no fixed list. They spawn in per-room hiding spots above eye level, behind furniture, in side rooms and in dark corners. Listen for the chirp.
How many sparrows are there? Twenty, tracked by the "All the chirps" achievement.
Do sparrows spawn in every room? They are spread across the eight areas, but the exact room can vary between runs. The count is global.
Can you find sparrows after finishing the game? Not in the same save if the run has ended. Finish the collectibles before the final pit, or use a second run.
Does the flashlight help find sparrows? It helps you see the bird once you are close, but the chirp is the better locator. Stop moving and listen first.
